Editorial: The White Coats are Coming!

Over 400 participants are scheduled to be present at this year's IACP Compounders on Capitol Hill; a record attendance! With all the events occurring in Congress, this is a very important meeting in terms of educational content and visits on the Hill.

In addition to the executive director and president of IACP speaking Sunday morning, the afternoon includes concurrent sessions on very contemporary topics. This is followed with the Rx Mixer that evening. Monday's programming includes presentations on the Midland Decision and the public affairs campaign. Monday afternoon includes a presentation by John Gans of APhA, Claudia Okeke of the USP, and discussions on meeting with Congress and our message to the Hill.

Tuesday is the big day with hundreds and hundreds of individual and group appointments with senators, representatives, and staff. The day begins with a session on details on making your appointments count with presentations by U.S. Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson and Jim Rock (lobbyist for IACP).

If you're going, I'll see you there; if not, we'll summarize the meeting in next week's newsletter.

Compounding Tip of the Week

Going to Compounders on Capitol Hill in DC?
Wear some comfortable walking shoes. July is rather hot and humid in the capitol city, so dress appropriately. Also, don't forget the "3-1-1" rule for airport security:

"3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3-ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin."
