With the future possibility of using 3D printing for individual patient medications, the medical profession is already using 3D printing for patient medical devices, and this is the object of the Guidance. The terminology "Additive Manufacturing" is used for 3D printing and is a process that builds an object by sequentially building 2-dimensional (2D) layers and joining each to the previous layer.
