The Arthritis Cure: The Medical Miracle that Can Halt, Reverse, and May Even Cure Osteoarthritis

Jason Theodosakis, MD, MS, MPH; Brenda Adderly, MHA; and Barry Fox, PhD
St. Martin's Press

Written for the lay public, this book is an excellent tool for arthritis sufferers. The Arthritis Cure outlines a nine-step program consisting of: (1) consultation with a physician; (2) supplementation with glucosamine and chondroitin sulfates; (3) improvement of biomechanics; (4) regular exercise; (5) healthy diet; (6) maintenance of ideal body weight; (7) efforts to fight depression; (8) traditional medications, as necessary; and (9) maintenance of a positive attitude. The heart of the cure focuses on supplementing glucosamine and chondroitin sulfates. Both are found in numerous over-the-counter supplements that are commonly found in the pharmacy. This book gives a thorough review of the mechanisms of action and benefits of the two supplements, as well as an indepth look at arthritis in general. The nine-step “Arthritis Cure” is more than just taking a bottle of pills; it offers readers and sufferers a program that maximizes the benefit of their treatment. Every person leaving the pharmacy with a bottle of glucosamine and/or chondroitin sulfates should also leave with a copy of this book.
